Dental codes change every year.  Consequently, many practices miss billing and reporting opportunities by improperly describing the services they provide.  Dr. Dougan’s engaging presentation of what can be a dry topic highlights this year’s new and revised codes and how to use them for increased claims success.  You’ll also learn how to eliminate common coding mistakes that interfere with being paid for services rendered.  We highly recommend you bring along your Office Manager.  The ADA’s code development process will also be discussed.

Specifically, you and/or your Office Manager will be able to:
identify newly created codes and how to use them in your billing practices
  identify expired / deleted codes and how to report those services under different codes
  better understand the code revision process and common code mistakes that can interfere with your ability to be paid for services rendered

Gary L. Dougan, DDS, MPH With more than 20 years in general practice and 24 years directing insurance plans, Dr. Dougan brings a wealth of practical experience to dental consulting.  Directing quality and utilization management programs for LIBERTY, MetLife, United, and Aetna, he’s reviewed thousands of claims, audited hundreds of practices, and now speaks nationwide on how dentists can improve their success with third parties, seeking to increase the knowledge of practicing dentists on the changing trends in dental health care delivery.

Gary received his DDS from Georgetown University, a Master of Public Health from UCLA, is a Fellow of the UCSF Health Professions Leadership Program, is extremely active in organized dentistry, serving in all offices of the Alameda County Dental Society, Trustee, CDA Committee Chair, Delegate to the ADA and CDA Houses, and currently on the TDIC Board of Directors.
