Join us for half an hour of yoga asanas and stretches with Joy followed by an hour of Persian dance class - loosen any stress you may have while dancing to beautiful rhythmic music! We’ll do some heart opening yoga poses and stretches, dance cardio and technique in the majestic and delicate classical Persian style.
Instructors
Joy Gayle is a certified yoga teacher with over 40 years of personal yoga practice, dedicated to supporting others in their journey toward balance and well-being. Her background also includes dance, therapeutic massage, yoga therapy, and facilitating women’s circles that foster connection, healing, and empowerment.
In addition to holistic work, she brings 35 years of experience in both critical care and neonatal nursing, offering a deeply compassionate and informed approach to the body, stress, and healing.
One of her greatest passions is teaching gentle yoga and mindful breathing practices to help calm the nervous system and restore a sense of ease. Through slow, intentional movement and breath, she guide others in releasing tension, opening the body, and reconnecting with a state of relaxation and rejuvenation.
Shadan Mirabedi is located in Menlo Park, CA and offers Persian and Central Asian dance performances for parties and events around the Bay Area and beyond. Shadan, a passionate instructor, provides group classes for adults, private lessons, and bridal preparation. She teaches and performs various Iranian dances as well as other dances from the Silk Road, sharing her cultural heritage with the local community. She has performed for 25 years and taught for 13 years, and is passionate about sharing her love of Persian music and dance with others. Weekly classes are hybrid, both in studio and on live zoom, making it more convenient for everyone to learn and appreciate the healing power of dance. Shadan focuses on creating encouraging, positive places for dancing, has a warm welcoming spirit and is proud to be a community builder for her participants.
